The Cooperative The Lecceto, Azienda Agraria, has represented since the 90s a strong reference point for the Tuscan olive growing, getting the most coveted awards in national and regional competitions for the best production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
In 1997 it was time to join the prestigious Consortium IGP Toscano, in the year following the recognition of our organic production.
The name OLIO di PODERE of which we are custodians is reserved for Extra Virgin olive groves from places in the hills between 450 and 500 meters above sea level and therefore protected in an almost natural by pests and mainly composed of such cultivars Frantoio, Moraiolo, the Correggiolo, Leccino.
The oil of the Cooperative The Lecceto is produced exclusively from olives harvested in 26,000 plants owned by our members only placed precisely in the territories of Castelmuzio, Petroio, Montisi, Trequanda, San Giovanni d'Asso.
The olives are picked by hand or with the aid of simple combs have initiated the transformation within the maximum time of 48 hours.
The extraction of olive oil is obtained in a continuous process and controlled temperature (max 27 degrees) in just mills exist in the area of competence of our cooperative.
